INFORMATION FOR VISITORS TO THE MUSIC BOX SHOP

VISITORS TO OUR RETAIL SHOP ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

Our small friendly retail music shop, "The Music Box Shop", is situated in the centre of Whitchurch Village, we are approximatley four miles from Bristol city centre and twelve miles from Bath, we welcome visitors who wish to view our range of high quality music boxes, musical jewellery boxes, music gifts and musical instruments we have on show.

The Music Box Shop is open Monday to Saturday 9.00am until 5.00pm and closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Weekends. We normally close over the Christmas and New Year week.

Being a retail music shop does mean that stock can vary day to day, so we strongly advise customers who wish to visit and are coming some distance, to telephone or email beforehand to ensure the musical product you are interested in is available and in stock, thus to avoid disappointment.

Musical Boxes, Jewellery Boxes and Musical Gifts

We have on show an extensive range of wooden inlaid music boxes, musical jewellery boxes and a selection of luxury music boxes, including famous Swiss names such as Reuge and Jobin who produce the finest Swiss music boxes available on the market today.  Our music box gifts and musical gift products come in a wide range, from novelties to miniature instruments.

Musical Instruments

We stock a wide range of acoustic and electric guitars, as well as banjos, violins, ukuleles, amps, accessories and much more.

Piano and Keyboard Tuition

We also have our own piano and keyboard Tuition Office in Whitchurch Village next door to The Music Box Shop. Lessons are held day time on Saturdays and evenings on Thursdays. We offer group tuition (maximum of 3 students per session), each student works at his or her own pace, as you work through head phones and the teacher works with each student individually at there level.

Lesson prices are £10.50 per 55 minutes, and are booked in five week blocks.

Mechanical Organs

As most mechanical fairground and street pipe organs are built to order, we normally do not have any instruments on show, if you are interested in the purchase of a mechanical pipe organ please telephone the office and arrange to speak with Richard Dean who will be happy to discuss you requirements.

We should also point out that due to health and safety and customer confidentiality, our organ building and repair workshop has to be kept private and is not open to visitors.

We are situated on the A37 'Bristol Road' in the centre of Whitchurch Village near Bristol in the county of Bath and North East Somerset, England.

Just enter your location and ours 'Whitchurch, Somerset' in the Route Planner and they will give you the directions.

Once you find Whitchurch, 'The Music Box Shop' is approx 30yds from the traffic lights in the centre of the village and opposite 'Whitchurch Nursing Home' & 'Central Garage'. We are next door to the Toby Carvery Pub 'The Maes Knoll' formerly the Black lion.

PARKING - Coming from Bristol, once into Whitchurch Village, approx. 100 Yards before our Shop is a Cul De Sac 'The Witheys'. Unrestricted parking is available in this road.

Public Transport: Temple Meads train station is approx. 4 miles from us. We have main bus stops near our shop with buses travelling in and out of Bristol during the daytime. Taxi's will pick up from Temple Meads, however, we advise you to book your return journey with the taxi firm, as we rarely get taxis driving past on pick ups.
