An unual gift for a musician or collector of musical figurines. This beautiful wooden lute was created by the Italian manufacturer of our musical boxes. An 18 note clockwork musical movement has been fitted into the back of the lute and there is a stop mechanism to turn the movement off and on when required. The front of the lute has beautiful wood grain markings with a decorative scroll marquetry inlay. Strings are fitted to the machine heads however they are for decoration only - this is not a playable instrument, it is purely a figurine for display.
The figurine measures approximately 25cm tall and 9.5cm wide with a depth of 5cm (measurements do not include stand dimensions).
The lute has been fitted with an 18 note musical movement with the tune Greensleeves.
